Dear Bob Bradley....WAKE UP!!!!

Ok, for my first post it is a bummer that it has to be a b#@ch session, but, Bob Bradley needs to pull his head out and put a proper team on the field? He continues to put ineffective players in and not getting players in for test. Why do we not see Freddie Adu, Torres? Oh, Adu is not playing much at the club level. Well Jozy hasn't see the field for how long for his club? And he gets to work himself fit! Torres does play for his club in Mexico and when he was in the 11 he was creative and a hard worker. Freddie may not be a match fitness, but he is the only US player that is creative on the ball, will run at people, and create space for others. Donovan is the only player on the current 11 that forces the other team to take notice where he is on the pitch. Players that need to be cut from this team and never called back are; Ricardo Clark (Mr. Hack, loser midfielder with no creativity and an anger issue, remember that he was suspended for a hack against FC Dallas), DaMarcus Beasley (you have had your day, now you can't cross, can't beat anyone, and he is another example of didn't play much for Rangers, but gets to come to the USMNT and get games to get fit!), Conor Casey (he is a spare in the MLS, and we think he is an international level striker???, Where is Kenny Cooper??) Ching (Oh his work off the ball is great, but, that work is not opening up the defense, he is just running in circles! Again, where is Kenny Cooper?)

For the game against Egypt can we please get do something like this:

I mean what the heck??

Keep some life in your life!

  1. Hi Tim--welcome to the blogging world. as I am sure you will soon find, becoming a "blogger" is an open invitation to constructive criticism of your ideas (and occasionally, irrational BS from people).

Quick question...in which club systems did you play in the 1980's? I have to ask, because I happen to find your above analysis, particularly with respect to players, somewhat shallow and uninformed. I played my football at pretty competitive levels growing up, and even I know that it is never as simple as "this guy should never get another call up." Indeed, so much more goes into call-ups and playing time decisions that the fans never know.

No offense. Just trying to create some dialogue.

  2. KO, Yep great points made. And I agree with you 100% I should have gone deeper in my evaluations, but, I will stand by them. I was in the Leeds United system and the Roma system, I never got a first team call up and due to injury, my playing days where cut way too short.

And I do agree with you I am un-informed, I am not a locker room reporter, but I have been involved in the politics of call ups and the US soccer system.

But what I know is what I see on the field. No passion, forced play (how many times do the USMNT connect more that 5 passes?), huge mental lapses (defense ball watching, not following), poor decisions (cards, passes), and I see poor coaching/management. Bob Bradly's team is underachieving. And yes I feel Bradley is not pulling the best players in, for example, Jozy Altidor not playing with his club team and Kenny Cooper playing every game scoring goals but can not get a call up! (Nice to see Davies on the field) Why call in DaMarcus Beasley, injured most of the year, not in form, but is being forced into the line up where ever he can be placed, defense, mids, I mean come on, at this point your telling me we can't find a defender and use Adu or Torres in mid field?

And I agree with you again, I should never say that anyone should never get another call up (see Beckham) but, let me rephrase it, they should prove at the club level that they are fit and on form, before they get another call up.
